About Me
I live in San Luis Obispo with my wife Elisa and daughter Elinor. Elisa just received her Master's of Science in Anthrozoology at Canisius College. Before that, she was the Southern Arizona Program Manager for Gabriel's Angels, a wonderful organization that pairs at-risk youth with therapy dog teams. We met at Kenyon College, our alma mater, in Gambier, Ohio.
Here's baby Elinor helping me puzzle through fundamental metaphysics. And here's our cat, Georgia, trying to change my views on free will.
I am originally from Chicago, Illinois. Before starting graduate school, I returned home for a couple of years and worked as a civil servant in the office of a city councilwoman. Outside of philosophy, I like to read all sorts of non-fiction. I play video games and tabletop RPGs with friends whenever possible. I am working on my rendition of "Wheels on the Bus"; Elinor has become obsessed with music.
