About Me
I live in San Luis Obispo with my wife Elisa and daughters Elinor and Penelope. Elisa and I met at Kenyon College, our alma mater, in Gambier, Ohio. She has an M.S. in Anthrozoology. Here's our cat, Georgia, trying to change my views on free will.
I am originally from Chicago, Illinois. Before starting graduate school, I returned home for a couple of years and worked as a civil servant in the office of a city councilwoman. I learned a lot about blame as the "director of constituent services".
Outside of philosophy, I like to read all sorts of non-fiction. I used to have hobbies—blues harmonica, video games—but I am now in the small-kids phase of my life. No matter. Elinor says the purpose of life is playing.

I never learned calculus but my Erdős number is 7.
